INVESTORS / CLIMATE INFRASTRUCTURE

The power plant
is already here.

Buildings are one of the world's largest classes of existing infrastructure. Sydsol is developing solar technology that makes more of their surface productive — without requiring new land.

01 / THE THESIS

Electricity demand is growing.
Usable urban surface is under-monetised.

AI, electrification and cooling are pushing electricity demand higher while grid expansion, interconnection and land remain constraints. Sydsol's thesis is that the building envelope can become another layer of distributed generation infrastructure.

01

Huge installed base

The opportunity sits on existing buildings rather than depending only on new construction.

02

Additional solar area

Façades and glazing expand the addressable surface beyond conventional rooftops.

03

Technology platform

Thin-film, semi-transparent photovoltaics can be adapted across building and mobility surfaces where conventional panels do not fit.

04

Multiple routes to scale

Manufacturing partnerships, licensing, integration and strategic capital can accelerate deployment without requiring Sydsol to own every part of the value chain.

02 / WHY NOW

The electricity system
has become a growth constraint.

More than 2,500 GW of renewables, storage and large-load projects are stalled in grid queues worldwide. Data-centre electricity demand rose 17% in 2025. The macro trend is not simply “more renewable energy”; it is a need for generation that can be deployed closer to demand and across more surfaces.

03 / DE-RISKING

Science first.
Then scale.

Sydsol grows from a foundation of UNSW photovoltaic research in antimony chalcogenides, including peer-reviewed semi-transparent devices and record-setting research cells. The commercial program is focused on translating that science into manufacturable, certifiable modules and real building deployments.

For investors, the key value inflection points are repeatable fabrication, module-scale performance, reliability and certification, pilot deployment, and manufacturing scale-up.
