Let’s talk
Solar Studio · Sydney

Crown Sydney.
Make clean energy part of the skyline.

Crown Sydney is already a landmark on the harbour. Sydsol can make renewable generation part of what guests, residents and the city actually see — clean energy integrated into the architecture, not hidden behind it.

The building as a power plant

A luxury landmark can make sustainability visible.

Solar Studio maps where the building can generate, when that electricity arrives, and which surfaces create the strongest commercial opportunity.

Energy & economics

Monthly electricity & LCOE

See how electricity generation and equivalent energy cost change through the year as solar resource, orientation and shading shift.

Monthly electricity & LCOE

Generation through the day

Not all solar is equal.

Rooftop solar is strongest around the midday solar peak — precisely when abundant solar can make electricity cheapest. Façades reshape the curve, adding generation earlier in the morning and later in the afternoon, when each kilowatt-hour can carry more commercial value.

Generate beyond the cheapest solar hours.

Where the electricity comes from

The building does not behave like a single solar surface. See which orientations contribute the most electricity, how much qualified area each one unlocks, and how quickly each surface could pay back.

The value of timing

More generation is useful. Better-timed generation is more valuable.

Rooftop solar concentrates output around the midday solar peak. Crown Sydney’s vertical surfaces broaden that production window into the morning and afternoon — shifting part of generation away from the most solar-saturated hours.

In December, the northwest façade provides approximately — of selected generation from 15:00–20:00, when rooftop output is already declining.

Brands & stakeholders

Make clean energy part of the guest experience.

Crown Sydney is experienced as much as it is occupied. A productive façade can turn renewable generation into part of the hotel, residence and hospitality experience — a sustainability feature attached directly to one of Sydney Harbour’s most recognisable buildings.

Operator

Crown Resorts

Crown owns and operates Crown Sydney as part of its Australian integrated-resort portfolio. A productive façade gives Crown a renewable-energy asset that is visible to guests and physically tied to the resort.

Potential audience: sustainability, property, engineering, hotel operations and corporate-affairs teams.

Owner / capital

Blackstone

Funds managed or advised by Blackstone acquired Crown Resorts in 2022. That connects the project to a global real-estate investor with the ability to evaluate successful building technologies across a wider portfolio.

Potential audience: real estate, asset management, ESG, infrastructure and portfolio-operations teams.

Hotel brand

Crown Towers Sydney

The hotel occupies the building’s most visible hospitality identity. Façade solar here can become part of the guest experience and the public sustainability narrative of a premium waterfront destination.

Potential audience: hotel operations, engineering, guest experience, brand and sustainability teams.

Hospitality brand

Nobu Sydney

Nobu operates inside Crown Sydney, adding a globally recognised hospitality brand to the building’s public-facing ecosystem. A visible façade-energy story can reach guests, staff and brand partners far beyond the asset-management team.

Marketing impact

The landmark itself can become the clean-energy statement.

A semi-transparent solar façade can support energy savings and carbon reduction while becoming part of the hotel, residence and hospitality story. At Crown Sydney, the clean-energy technology does not have to disappear into the plant room — it can live on the skyline.

The Solar Studio advantage

We model the building.
Then we follow the sun.

Solar Studio reveals the energy potential hidden across an entire building envelope — not just the roof. It combines advanced 3D solar simulation with the commercial metrics asset owners need to make a decision.

01

Advanced 3D building model

We recreate the building and its urban surroundings so the analysis reflects the real geometry of the façade, roof and neighbouring skyline.

02

Sunlight, tracked all year

Advanced ray-tracing follows sunlight through every hour of the day and every season of the year, revealing how solar access changes across the envelope.

03

A true shading profile

Nearby towers, setbacks and the building itself are captured in a detailed shading profile, separating consistently productive surfaces from those that spend too much time in shadow.

04

From solar potential to business case

We translate the solar opportunity into generation, energy savings, carbon reduction and payback — turning a complex façade into a clear investment picture.

Beyond rooftop solar

See where the building can generate, when that energy arrives, and which surfaces create the strongest commercial value.
